While many have fled, some brave souls have remained near the Russian frontlines in Kramatorsk, opening their homes to dogs and cats that have nowhere else to go. The situation on the ground in Kramatorsk is incredibly tense, but the Nowzad team has arrived safely at the Drooh Shelter today. Pen, Lach, and Angela are currently on-site with our shelter team there, unloading a vital shipment of food, medicine, and essential supplies brought in from the UK and Lviv. After navigating miles of anti-drone netting and the constant hum of the front line, seeing these resilient dogs and their caretakers is a powerful reminder of why this mission matters. Nowzad

Driving into the heart of the Donbas yesterday, the reality of Nowzad’s mission in Ukraine truly hit home. Pen, Lach, and Angela drove out to Kramatorsk, heading toward the front lines to visit the incredible Ksenia. Since 2022, Nowzad has been proud to support Ksenia and the dedicated team at the animal shelter in Kramatorsk, where they provide a sanctuary for the four-legged victims of this conflict who have nowhere else to go.
