Soldier Rescue Process:

For us to be able to assist with the rescue of a companion animal from Afghanistan; the animal must already have a ‘forever’ home in place with the soldier or their immediate family member in the west.

We will need exact location details of the companion animal and ‘real time’ communication with the soldier who is caring for the animal so that we can plan the detailed pick-up and rescue of the animal.

Please note that we are a charity (501c3) that relies solely on public donations to operate our shelter and provide the logistics behind every successful rescue request received for companion animals from Afghanistan.
The average cost of a rescue is US $5500+ from the current location on a FOB to our shelter (including shelter running costs and vaccines) and onward transport to north America, (animals destined for the UK will need to be DEFRA blood tested before entry which is at least a 4 month process).

The Nowzad charity will ask for a financial commitment from all soldiers or contractors.

Please click here to email us directly about your rescue request - please include your location details and as much information as possible about the animal to be rescued.
