For years, Nowzad's Animal Hospital and Donkey Sanctuary have provided hope and healing in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Both have been a vital lifeline, providing critical medical care, safe refuge, and a second chance for vulnerable animals – from the brave donkeys and horses, to the abandoned dogs and cats who find love and shelter in our care. Every wagging tail, every nuzzle - every life saved has been thanks to these two facilities and to the unwavering support of our incredible community.

But today, we face an unprecedented and devastating challenge.

Due to rapid road construction and the relentless march of high-rise building developments in Kabul, both Nowzad sites are being bulldozed this summer. We are losing the very ground that has served as our sanctuary and our hospital – the heart of what Nowzad does best - for so long.

We have no choice but to move, and time is running out.
