Donating to NOWZAD
Ukraine

Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in early 2022, Nowzad has been steadfastly committed to supporting local shelters and brave volunteers on the ground, delivering tonnes of vital aid and veterinary supplies directly to the frontlines. As the conflict intensifies, our mission has shifted to high-stakes evacuations through Operation Kramatorsk.

Leading these tough, frontline rescue runs alongside Pen is Nowzad's Chief Veterinary Advisor, Dr Lachlan from the Sunshine Coast. Throughout April and May 2026, Dr Lach was on the ground helping to evacuate the very first waves of terrified dogs and cats from a shelter just kilometres from the advancing frontlines.

Beyond orchestrating these perilous moves, Dr Lach has also been putting his brilliant veterinary skills to use in the most challenging conditions—neutering, sterilising, vaccinating, and treating sick, injured, and poorly dogs, cats, and even abandoned farm animals. We are not just moving these animals to safety in western Ukraine; we are dismantling and transporting entire kennel infrastructures to rebuild temporary sanctuaries at our destination sites. Just as we did with Operation Ark in Afghanistan, we refuse to leave the animals behind to face a grim fate.

Please donate to our emergency fund today to help us cover the critical costs of transport, fuel, emergency crates, and medical supplies. Your generosity is their only lifeline.

Donating to NOWZAD
Afghanistan

Our vital animal welfare work doesn't stop in Ukraine. Nowzad remains fiercely committed to our ongoing mission in Afghanistan, a country too often forgotten by the rest of the world.

Leaving the comfort of Queensland behind, Dr Lach has travelled to Kabul multiple times to provide crucial, hands-on training to our local Afghan veterinary team at the 24/7 Nowzad Animal Hospital. Equipped with donated surgical gear, he spends his time elevating the skills of local vets in complex procedures like advanced bone-plating for the hundreds of street dogs and cats injured in horrific road-traffic accidents each year. From treating rescued, orphaned wolf cubs on his very first day to assessing the equine residents at our Nowzad Donkey Sanctuary (the first and only of its kind in Afghanistan), Dr Lach even took to the rough, off-road terrain on our mobile equine clinic to treat hard-working animals at rural brick kilns and migrant camps.

By donating to Nowzad today, you are directly funding the continuous training, medicine, and critical care that Dr Lach and our brave Kabul team provide to the animals who need it most.
