Ukraine: A Message from Maryna Hello. My name is Maryna, and I am from Ukraine. For over three years, I have been part of the Nowzad team here in the UK. My journey here began four years ago in my home city of Dnipro, which has been targeted by shelling since the very first day of the war. I remember the morning my family was woken by the sound of explosions. Looking out of our window, we could see the smoke rising and the blasts at the airport. Happy Friday everyone! It’s time to meet one of the biggest personalities at the Sanctuary. 🐐✨ - Jaja (our resident Star Wars legend!) If you think those ears look familiar, you’re right—our handsome boy Jaja was named after everyone’s favourite long-eared Gungan! Back in 2018, Pen and the Nowzad team found Jaja at a migrant camp on the outskirts of Kabul, during one of our regular animal health clinics. At just one year old, he was fighting a losing battle with severe gastroenteritis and

Something special happened at Nowzad HQ in Bradninch today! We had a very exciting visit from our truly wonderful supporter —the one and only Dom, who is officially one of Ewok’s biggest fans! Dom stopped by along with his amazing mum and sister, and honestly, they made our day. Not only did they bring along some lovely gifts for Ewok (who was naturally delighted by all the attention), but Dom also donated £40 of his very own pocket money to help the animals of Nowzad! 🧡 Dom, you are an abs

⚡️ Keeping the Lights On: Fury’s Power Patrol 🏥 Today, Fury took a deep dive into the “heartbeat” of the hospital: the Generator! In a city like Kabul, where the grid can go dark at any moment, these machines aren’t just equipment—they are literal lifesavers. Imagine if our vets lost lights and monitors midway through operating on an animal or if we couldn’t keep our vaccines
