We have some truly special news to brighten the end of your week! Last Friday evening, a beautiful new life arrived at our partner's Соціальне ранчо Horse Paradise in Kyiv. And now we are so proud to introduce his forever name: Dash! Thank you to everyone who suggested a name - they were all perfect but it had to be Dash in the end.
He is named in honour of Dasha - the wonderful, brave lady who helped rescue him and his mum from slaughter, as well as the heart-pounding "dash" against time it took to bring them both to safety at the sanctuary. It also very much suits his character apparently - he's a very spirited little foal already!
In today’s post, you’ll get to see plenty of videos of Dash and his mum, and the wonderful Halyna who cares for these beautiful horses day in and day out. Watching Dash find his feet and seeing the instant, incredible bond between them is a powerful reminder of why we all do what we do every single day.
However, life at the sanctuary remains a constant challenge. We’ve also included footage from Wednesday, when a reactive drone flew directly over the sanctuary. It gives a small glimpse into the high-stress conditions our horses, volunteers, and dedicated staff have to live under daily in Kyiv.
