Introducing Nowzad's New Mobile Veterinary Unit!

We are absolutely thrilled to unveil the newest, biggest, and most fabulous member of the Nowzad family: our brand-new Mobile Veterinary Unit for Ukraine!

Many of you got an exclusive sneak peek as we premiered it at our two wonderful fundraising events this autumn. And for those who made it to the Nowzad office on Sunday, you got the VIP experience! We loved watching you all sit inside and even turn the lights on!

This former ambulance is set to embark on a vital journey to Ukraine in early 2026. Once there, it will travel the country to make a massive impact by facilitating crucial Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) efforts at shelters and vet clinics. Plus, it will be doubling up as an animal ambulance, ready to assist with any rescues we come across along the way.

But We Need Your Help to Get It Rolling!

Right now, this awesome vehicle is a decommissioned human ambulance — it's not yet equipped for veterinary purposes. We need to reach our fundraising target by New Year to transform it into a fully operational, life-saving unit.

Every piece of equipment, from surgical tools to cages, will make a direct difference to the animals of Ukraine.

Three Ways You Can Help Today:

  1. Donate: Click here to help us hit our target and get this ambulance on the road and fit for purpose!
  2. Share: Please, please spread the word about our appeal to your friends and networks.
  3. VOTE NOW! We are currently vying for a share of funding through the Almo Nature Companion for Life initiative. This is a MASSIVE opportunity, and every single vote counts! We're currently in third place, and any help to bump us up the list before the closing date of October 22nd would be absolutely amazing. More information about our work and the ambulance is right on the voting page!

Let's work together to equip this amazing unit and send a powerful wave of veterinary aid to the animals in Ukraine!

Thank you for your continued support! (oh, and such an important set of wheels needs a fantastic name! Drop your ideas at info@nowzad.com)

Whilst Pen and Dan spent more hours on the road today, the rest of the Nowzad Ukraine team, David, Liuba, Dr Lachlan and Angela were hard at work organising and packing the van ready to head into Hostomel and Borodyanka Sunday morning. In addition to food supplies, there is also all the necessary equipment and supplies needed to set up a surgical clinic. The amount we need to take with us to set up a surgical clinic from nothing is massive! Everything from instruments to medications to means fo

As part of Operation Kramatorsk, our incredible partner, Ksenia, has been on the ground very recently - visiting the “hidden” feline heroes of this frontline city. Here - there is a quiet, tireless army of women refusing to leave their four-legged family members behind. Ksenia recently visited Natalia – a volunteer who shares her tidy, bright flat with 70 cats. Most of these cat rescues were brought to her by soldiers from the front lines because they know Natalia’s door is always open. Despite

It’s been a whirlwind of a week here in Ukraine, with Operation Kramatorsk. We’ve had some incredible wins, like getting five more dogs out of Kramatorsk and safely to Kyiv yesterday —including sweet little Peter, who is now receiving the veterinary care he needs! Of course, the frontlines always throw challenges our way. Our ambulance has unfortunately broken down again, which is a tough setback for our team. But the work doesn’t stop! We’re still pushing forward with our veterinary work (neu

Yesterday was one of the long ones, but it was worth every second! Just look at the dogs as they come out of the crates after the journey, into their new home for now. Dan and Pen have just finished a VERY tough 12-hour drive to get 5 more dogs out of the danger zone in Kramatorsk and safely into the shelter in Kyiv. #nowzad #kramatorsk #operationkramatorsk #ukrainerelief #nowzaddogscharity

Today has been a total whirlwind of emotion, action, and hope. In the Field with Pen 🎥 Check out the video from Pen, who’s currently en route with a truckload of animals - one dog (‘Peter’) going straight to the vets in Kyiv this evening to hopefully resolve some worrying health issues. We’re moving as fast as we can to get these dogs to safety in Kyiv and away from the immediate dangers of the conflict. Every mile brings them closer to a new, peaceful life.
