Thank you for joining us for the Quiz Night and Talk with Pen Farthing!

It was such a brilliant night! The room was absolutely buzzing with energy, the quiz was a blast, and it was a real joy to share the latest news about our missions.

We kicked off the evening with updates on our work in Ukraine. Pen spoke about the Sterilisation Programme, and our dedicated supporters will know we are in the process of converting an ambulance into a mobile veterinary clinic to send to Ukraine! We keep fighting rabies by vaccinating animals and, of course, continuing to deliver food to the most dangerous areas, supporting both the animals and their courageous carers.

Next, Pen shared the latest updates from Kabul. It has only been a few months since we relocated our Nowzad Hospital and Donkey Sanctuary, and we loved sharing the progress with you.

Seeing all those happy faces was the very best part of the evening. We then held the most enjoyable quiz possible, and thank you all for taking part so enthusiastically!

And thank you, too, to everyone who dropped by the office for a chat and joined the wonderful walk with us along Exmouth beach. What a perfect, lovely end to the whole event!

💖 You're Genuinely Saving Lives

The support you showed this weekend was genuinely amazing. It means the world to the whole team, and honestly, it’s what keeps us going.

We are especially grateful for:

- Your kindness and generosity: Every ticket bought, every item brought, and every pound you donate goes straight to feeding, treating, and saving animals in need. You’re truly a lifesaver!

- All the donations you brought for Ukraine, the Raise 4 Nowzad Auctions, and the Nowzad Charity Shop.

- Our amazing volunteer team: A huge shout-out to everyone who helped us pull the event off, setting up, running the raffle, and keeping everything going. We just couldn't have done it without you! 🙏

The atmosphere was truly special, with so many dogs joining us across all the events! We appreciate you bringing your friends and letting them share in the Nowzad social life. 🐾

Thank you again for your incredible warmth and for standing by the Nowzad animals.

We'd love to hear what you thought! Please email us at events@nowzad.com with any feedback or suggestions you have for the theme of next year's event.

We can't wait to catch up with you at the next one!

Best wishes and massive thanks from us all,

The Nowzad Team

Whilst Pen and Dan spent more hours on the road today, the rest of the Nowzad Ukraine team, David, Liuba, Dr Lachlan and Angela were hard at work organising and packing the van ready to head into Hostomel and Borodyanka Sunday morning. In addition to food supplies, there is also all the necessary equipment and supplies needed to set up a surgical clinic. The amount we need to take with us to set up a surgical clinic from nothing is massive! Everything from instruments to medications to means fo

As part of Operation Kramatorsk, our incredible partner, Ksenia, has been on the ground very recently - visiting the “hidden” feline heroes of this frontline city. Here - there is a quiet, tireless army of women refusing to leave their four-legged family members behind. Ksenia recently visited Natalia – a volunteer who shares her tidy, bright flat with 70 cats. Most of these cat rescues were brought to her by soldiers from the front lines because they know Natalia’s door is always open. Despite

It’s been a whirlwind of a week here in Ukraine, with Operation Kramatorsk. We’ve had some incredible wins, like getting five more dogs out of Kramatorsk and safely to Kyiv yesterday —including sweet little Peter, who is now receiving the veterinary care he needs! Of course, the frontlines always throw challenges our way. Our ambulance has unfortunately broken down again, which is a tough setback for our team. But the work doesn’t stop! We’re still pushing forward with our veterinary work (neu

Yesterday was one of the long ones, but it was worth every second! Just look at the dogs as they come out of the crates after the journey, into their new home for now. Dan and Pen have just finished a VERY tough 12-hour drive to get 5 more dogs out of the danger zone in Kramatorsk and safely into the shelter in Kyiv. #nowzad #kramatorsk #operationkramatorsk #ukrainerelief #nowzaddogscharity

Today has been a total whirlwind of emotion, action, and hope. In the Field with Pen 🎥 Check out the video from Pen, who’s currently en route with a truckload of animals - one dog (‘Peter’) going straight to the vets in Kyiv this evening to hopefully resolve some worrying health issues. We’re moving as fast as we can to get these dogs to safety in Kyiv and away from the immediate dangers of the conflict. Every mile brings them closer to a new, peaceful life.
