For over two decades, this brave horse, Reshar, dedicated his life to people as a school horse at the Kharkiv State Veterinary Academy in Ukraine. However, at the height of the war, the academy’s territory came under heavy, devastating shelling. During one of these terrifying air attacks, a projectile struck the very grounds where Reshar and 45 other horses were being kept.
With the facility severely damaged and on fire, an urgent emergency evacuation was launched to save the animals. Reshar was successfully evacuated, alongside his stablemates. Because Reshar and his half-sister, Rosinka, had spent their entire lives side-by-side, the Academy asked our partner rescue sanctuary to take them both in.
