Nowzad UK has a new home!

When we asked for donations of food and medical supplies to support the animal shelters in Ukraine caught up in Putin’s horrific and illegal invasion we had no idea of the amazing response we would receive.

For a while we were, to put it mildly, overwhelmed.

Within weeks of the appeal launching we had enough supplies for several large lorries to be loaded and sent on their way to Poland.

But with no end in sight to the war, we realised our tiny office in Tiverton was not sufficient to sustain the quantity of supplies we would need. Just recently we have used 9 different storage facilities dotted around Devon to contain all the supplies we were receiving.

So we took the decision to terminate our lease and invest in the future of Nowzad.

We are now proud to announce that Nowzad in the UK has a new home!

You can find us at B3, Mercury Business Park, Bradninch, Devon, EX5 4BL.

Please update your address books!

The new facility is far bigger than our Tiverton office, boasting a ground floor warehouse facility to process donated supplies with an office area above.

We now have also space for the Nowzad store to have its own dedicated storage and packing area. So to ensure you receive a first rate service when you purchase your Nowzad merchandise to support our animal welfare work we will have a full time Nowzad store staff member.

Gone will be the days of Nowzad founder Pen Farthing along with Ann and David packing shop orders in their living room at all hours of the day and night! (and yes you could say they are somewhat relieved with this news and it also means you will probably actually receive what you ordered 😊 but to be fair Ann was always on the ball – it was the lads who let the system down!).

We will finally realise our dream of offering seasonal merchandise, in a timely manner whilst delivering a first rate service.

We intend to hold an opening ceremony sometime in January 2023 where our fabulous Patron, Peter Egan will be on hand to cut the ribbon. The day will include a dog walk and opening ceremony followed by a talk by Pen on what the future holds for Nowzad and of course; our new Nowzad store will be open on the day for direct sales!

The date is yet to be decided but we will publish it here and on our social media channels.

It has been another crazy, non-stop day for Pen, Angela, and the team on the frontlines. A little update... After kicking off the morning (once Pen finally figured out it was indeed Wednesday! 😂), the team hit the ground running with Ksenia to coordinate another critical animal evacuation before the long journey west. Just last night, a litter of newborn puppies was left abandoned right outside the rescue office. With no guarantees of finding them immediate homes, the team took them in withou

The first evacuation of the week is officially complete! After a 9 to 10-hour drive today, Pen and Angela have safely arrived at an animal shelter in Smila, Western Ukraine this evening, to unload these beautiful rescues and settle them into their new homes. It was a journey of highs and lows. Sadly, they faced a heartbreaking detour to try and save a cat found along the way, who passed away just a minute from reaching the vet. It’s a very sad reminder of how fragile these lives are on the fron

OPERATION KRAMATORSK is such an emotional and vital mission for us all. Pen standing in Kramatorsk today and watching him and the staff there load up the poor dogs is incredibly upsetting. Just a few years ago, Nowzad proudly funded and built the kennels here, but due to the escalating situation, they have been dismantled and moved to safer shelters in the west to be rebuilt. And the reality on the ground is heartbreaking. Last night was intense for everyone in the Kramatorsk area - with heavy

It’s Caturday 😻🐾 This week, we want to share one of the many rescue stories unfolding in Kabul — a story of survival, hope, and a second chance. It all began with a desperate call. Kind-hearted local residents in Kabul spotted a frail, suffering cat who was barely holding on. Turbi hadn’t eaten for days. His tiny body was weak, exhausted, and fighting to survive. The discharge from his nose and eyes painted a heartbreaking picture — he needed urgent medical care, and he needed it fast. With
