Happy International Working Animal Day!

June 15th, and like every year on this day, we pause to honour the millions of donkeys, horses, mules, and other working animals around the globe who tirelessly support human livelihoods, often in the harshest conditions. From carrying heavy loads in remote villages to assisting in agriculture, their strength and dedication are invaluable.

Here at Nowzad, we believe every working animal deserves a life free from pain and neglect. That's why - this particular June 15th - we're so proud to be launching our "Healthy Horse" awards in Afghanistan! This initiative is a vital part of our ongoing commitment to improving the welfare of these incredible animals in Kabul and beyond.

Through regular health checks, vital owner education, and prizes like padded harnesses, portable shelters, and essential care kits, we're not just treating symptoms – we're incentivising responsible animal husbandry before issues set in, and building lasting relationships with owners in the process. Take a look at our first set of awards from this morning’s gathering in Qala-e-Fatoh!

This International Working Animal Day, please join us in celebrating these unsung heroes and supporting our efforts to give them the care they deserve. Every share, every like, and every donation helps us continue our vital work on the ground (https://www.nowzad.com/supportus)

That’s a huge barrier that highlights the broader challenges regarding education equality. However, we can still be proud that Nowzad is doing what it can within the existing restrictions. Sometimes, the most impor

What a truly fantastic day we had last week at our Nowzad Animal Hospital in Kabul! Our vet team organised an education day with the animals for around 45 very enthusiastic school students, all focused on teaching them how to be safe around animals and treat them with kindness. The session focused on two crucial topics: rabies prevention and general animal welfare. It was wonderful to see the students soak up all the information! This activity was all about encouraging learning in a friendly a

The Zaporizhzhia direction remains one of the most challenging areas in Ukraine. Due to constant drone attacks, our volunteers face significant risks and extra effort to deliver essential aid - food, medicines, toys, and, as you can see, vital warm clothing - t
