A New Chapter for Abi: Honoring a Legacy of Rescue with a Forever Home

Nowzad’s mission has always been to enhance the welfare of animals and provide assistance where it is most desperately needed. Abi was brought to the Nowzad animal hospital by a compassionate local man who discovered her in a state of distress, struggling to move with her leg severely swollen. In a cruel act, someone had tightened rope and wire around her leg, cutting off circulation, which led to considerable swelling, infection, and a deep, open wound. At merely three months old, she had already faced unimaginable suffering.

Thanks to expert medical care, Abi is on the road to recovery and blossoming into a beautiful young dog. Despite having a limp, she joyfully plays and dashes around with her kennel companions, embracing the affection and camaraderie around her! Now, she has been granted the opportunity to fulfill her dreams—becoming part of a forever home and experiencing a happy, carefree life with her very own family. A bright future awaits Abi, filled with love, adventure in the forests, a nearby lake, and ample space for spirited playtimes with her new doggy sibling. We hope he comes with plenty of energy because Abi is full of playful spirit!

Abi is an exuberant little dog with the most delightful wagging tail, but above all, she longs for human touch and companionship. She adores cuddles, and her future family cannot wait to welcome her into their lives. They experienced the heartache of saying goodbye to their senior Nowzad rescue last year, and now they wish to honor his memory by opening their hearts and home to another courageous Nowzad pup.

We understand these are challenging times, but if you can contribute even a small amount to help Abi reach her funding goal, our gratitude will be immense. Let’s come together to support this deserving dog, giving her the chance to have a loving family and a wonderfully happy life.

Thank you for your kindness!

Pen did a live interview with Emma Bullimore on BBC this morning about the work Nowzad are currently doing in Ukraine. Enroute more supply-loading at the warehouse, Liuba took Peter Egan and team to pay respects to fallen Ukrainian soldiers. A very emotional morning and startling seeing the vast number of lives cut short by a senseless war. This isn't the end of it...there are many more graves for brave soldiers they've lost. #Ukraine #NoAnimalLeftBehind #CannonballRun #OperationKramatorsk

Another busy week ahead of vaccinating, neutering and spaying, as well as food and essential supply drops. As we race against time, we're joined by more members of the team as there's much work to be done. We think you may recognise one in particular! In the snapshot video, the team heckled their driver, as they experienced first hand, the pot-holed ride into Lviv, where our brilliant and beautiful Liuba got to meet someone very special to Nowzad. Over the next few days, we'll introduce our

Whilst Pen and Dan spent more hours on the road today, the rest of the Nowzad Ukraine team, David, Liuba, Dr Lachlan and Angela were hard at work organising and packing the van ready to head into Hostomel and Borodyanka Sunday morning. In addition to food supplies, there is also all the necessary equipment and supplies needed to set up a surgical clinic. The amount we need to take with us to set up a surgical clinic from nothing is massive! Everything from instruments to medications to means fo
