We want to take a moment to share a deeply moving tribute and extend a heartfelt thank you to the late Judith Pegg - the wonderful mum of one of our long-term supporters, Dan Cognolato.

Very sadly, Judith passed away recently, far too young. However, her compassion for animals will live on forever. Judith left a tremendously generous legacy gift to Nowzad, which will directly fund and support our ongoing animal welfare work on the ground in both Afghanistan and Ukraine.

To honour her memory and ensure her kindness is never forgotten, we have placed a special commemorative plaque at our donkey sanctuary in Kabul. We know Judith’s spirit will watch over the residents there.
