Our beautiful girl Pat spent the majority of her life as a working donkey in one of the harshest environments we could imagine – within the high-altitude villages surrounding Kabul, Afghanistan.

The Nowzad Hospital was an absolute whirlwind of activity on 24 Feb 2026 for World Spay Day, which was the first one held in the new hospital facility.

The roar of power tools and the clatter of stripped metal now fill the workshop where Nowzad’s latest mission is taking shape. The charity has officially begun the "ultimate teardown" of a decommissioned ambulance, destined to become a high-tech mobile veterinary unit for the war-torn regions of Ukraine.
