Former Rescues

All of our Nowzad former street dogs or cats will need a home where love and patience walk hand in hand.

It can be a long road of trial and error and careful supervision is always necessary. Overcoming the Afghan animal’s very territorial nature can have its moments.

We have fully come to appreciate that adopting an Afghan animal is not for everybody as it requires a life time of commitment but could you be the loving home our companion animals are looking for?

All our animals for adoption are vaccinated, neutered, tick flea & wormed & microchipped.

The team at Nowzad feel it is very important to ensure that you and your family / home situation is right for the dog or cat you are considering adopting. Please be as honest with us as you can when you complete the questionnaire. Some of our older dogs or cats that need ‘forever’ homes may not readily accept other dogs that are already living in your home but our younger dogs will settle with the correct introduction and supervision.

These are just a selection of the amazing rescues that the Nowzad team with your generous support, have been able to achieve since the charity was formed in 2007. Please click on a rescue to read more.

BEAR & SANG

This week we have a special update from two of our lovely adopters. Handsome Bear  (Tan Dog) has happily settled into his new life in the UK with Nowzad rescue Sang who came home the year before…. Here their new family tell the story:

We feel so lucky to have been able to adopt our loveable boy Bear who came over on the Ark. He is so full of energy and has a prance that would put the best show dog to shame! He loves his walks and makes human and dog friends wherever he goes! He has also helped improve the confidence of our other Nowzad rescue Sang who we adopted in November 2020. He has completed our family and we are so grateful to everyone involved in helping to get the animals on the Ark to the UK.
