Char Badmashis

The famous “Badmashis” as they were known to the Nowzad clinic team means the "four hooligans" in Dari; as that is what they were! Four siblings that caused untold mischief whilst in the shelter.

Found by four UK soldiers who were determined to rescue them, we managed to transport all four young pups to the Nowzad shelter when they were about four months old from a base deep in Helmand Province.

After serving their time in UK quarantine, Missy (renamed Bonny), Peryn, Smudge and Patch were released to their soldiers. Sadly though both Smudge and Patch did not fit into their new homes and were soon returned to the quarantine kennels. Thankfully Lyn from Happy Landings Animal shelter near Yeovil took in Smudge who was renamed Laila and Pen, the Nowzad founder took in Patch who became Mr Dog; first name Patch.

Patchdog featured in the book; No Place like Home the follow on to One Dog at a time by Pen.
