In September 2014 we received an email from a Royal Marine serving in Albania.
He and his colleagues had been taking care of a young puppy whom they had called Pressel, they were to be leaving for good shortly after and could not bear to leave him behind.
This was the first time we had received a rescue request in Albania and time was not on our side, we had no idea if we would be able to get Pressel to safety before his Royal Marine left.
Thankfully, we were able to contact an animal rescue group in Albania who were all too happy to help us.
They arranged for Pressel to receive his vaccinations so that he could be moved to Brussels where he was met by an agent and transported directly into quarantine in the UK.
Pressel and his Royal Marine rescuer were reunited in the UK as soon as his quarantine ended.
