Snickers came to the Nowzad shelter in March 2011. The soldier who adopted wrote;
”Snickers is from Afghanistan. US Marines took her away from the local nationals after one of us witnessed them kicking and throwing rocks at her. She was very skinny and extremely hungry. Marines took her in and she quickly made friends with another dog we rescued named Alice. Marines fed her, played with her and made her feel like she was part of the team. In mid-March, we paid for a car ride from Helmand Province to the Nowzad shelter, the only one and very dangerous route to the shelter. She was safe, in the shelter where she is waited donations and later flew to sunny California. ”
Snickers left the Nowzad shelter on 24 May 2011 and is now loving it at home in the USA.
