FIFA was born in southern Afghanistan in the summer of 2010. At around 3 weeks old she was found by a Canadian soldier starving and dehydrated and her mother was nowhere to be seen. She would have almost certainly of died if the soldier had not come along when he did. FIFA was quickly taken back to camp where she was quickly given food and water and over the weeks thankfully she grew stronger. Once the soldier knew she would survive he contacted Nowzad and we immediately arranged for FIFA to be transported to our shelter and clinic in Kabul.
Thankfully after a very quick period of fundraising FIFA flew to Canada on the 14 October 2010 to take up her permanent residency.
