Lachlan is a veterinarian with nearly 20 years’ experience and lives on Australia’s Sunshine Coast with his wife, two children and their chihuahua, Whoppa. He holds a MANZCVS in Small Animal Surgery and brings extensive clinical and leadership experience to his work with Nowzad.

He first connected with the Nowzad team in Ukraine in 2022 after travelling there independently to support the response in the early weeks of the war. He has since become a Trustee and Veterinary Advisor, returning to Ukraine and Afghanistan on multiple occasions to support Nowzad’s veterinary and welfare programmes.

In his day job, Lachlan is Chief Veterinary Officer for a large veterinary group across Australia and New Zealand. He is also involved in charitable work as Vice President of Pets in the Park Australia, which provides veterinary care for pets owned by people experiencing homelessness.

For Lachlan, Nowzad matters because it delivers genuine animal welfare in places of real and urgent need, supporting both animals and the communities who depend on them. He values being part of a team that provides practical veterinary care, builds capability, and makes a measurable difference where it truly counts.
