Peter is named in honour of our long-standing patron and dear friend, Peter Egan. Like the man himself, this horse possesses a quiet, soulful dignity that stayed with him even in his darkest hours at the brick kilns where he had been put to work.
When he arrived at our Sanctuary, Peter was profoundly exhausted, his body showing the scars of a life spent pulling weights far beyond his capacity. His recovery has been a patient journey of rebuilding trust and health.
Today, Peter is discovering the simple pleasures of a full bucket of feed and a kind word. He spends his days resting and recovering, finally allowed to exist for his own sake rather than for what he can do. He is safe, he is cherished, and he will never be hungry again!
Please consider making a donatation to help another donkey or horse receive the treatment they all so desperately need. Thank-you for caring.
