A note from Pen
14 November 2022

The last year did not have to be like it was. Operation Ark was meant to be a glimmer of hope from the chaos and turmoil of the western worlds complete and utter failure of the Afghan people.

Surely we should have been celebrating the successful evacuation of 67 Afghan nationals; including pregnant women and extremely young children who now had the opportunity for new lives in the United Kingdom free from oppression, along with the 94 dogs and 68 cats of the Nowzad clinic?

Dakota absolutely adored all the fuss and attention from the kids and teachers, proving what wonderful ambassadors these animals really are. Such an inspiring talk about compassion and courage! Thank

Many of you will remember his story – the emaciated horse Dr. Reshad found in February, utterly resigned to his fate amidst the bleak brick kilns of Afghanistan. Maverick fought with incredible courage. For weeks, he received intensive care from our dedicated vets, being hoisted to his feet daily and slowly, miraculously, regaining strength. Against all odds, he was eventually standing on his own four hooves a
