Paws, Fun, and a Mission: Join Vijay at the North East Dog Festival!

For all dog lovers in Newcastle! We are delighted to announce that our wonderful fundraiser, Vijay Kritzinger, will be flying the flag for Nowzad at this year's North East Dog Festival.

Mark your calendars for 22–23 August 2026! Kirkley Hall is set to become a canine paradise, and amongst the agility displays and muddy paws, you will find a very special stand.

Vijay will be there representing Nowzad, sharing the incredible stories of the animals we rescue in conflict zones like Afghanistan and Ukraine. She has dedicated her time to running this stand to raise vital awareness and funds, ensuring that while we celebrate our own pets here, we don't forget those who need our help overseas.

If you are in the North East, please grab a ticket and pop by to say a huge hello to her! She would love to chat with you about the charity's mission.

It’s been another heavy week here in Kabul. Our team is currently celebrating the Islamic festival of Eid but, with more attacks on the city, the tension is palpable. Thank goodness though - Dr Reshad, his team and all our precious rescue animals are safe. Thank you so much to everyone for asking about the situation and how they all are. But... all are feeling the weight of the ongoing crisis and it’s hard for us here in the UK not to feel helpless sometimes :( Even in the toughest times th

For those who don’t know, Canicross is the exhilarating sport of cross-country running with your dog. It’s all about teamwork, t

❤️PAWS ACROSS BORDERS – 17/3/26🥰 From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the incredible love and support you’ve shown for our beautiful trio — Albert, Dee & Abi.🙏 Because of you, they each have something so special waiting… a place to belong, and families ready to welcome them with open arms. Now, we just need to help them get there. 🐕Albert – a gentle, soulful boy who just wants a quiet corner and a kind hand to trust. 🐶Dee – full of sweetness and resilience, ready to share her love

Remember Blue? We first introduced you to this sweet boy back in December, and today, we are absolutely delighted to share an update on beautiful Blue! After his devastating accident, Blue’s road to recovery looked long and uncertain. The impact was severe, causing significant injuries to his internal organs — specifically his lungs — which required careful monitoring and X-rays to track the damage. He also struggled with a painful tear in her upper palate that made the simple act of eating a d

Instead of our usual Fury post this week, and due to the whole, absolutely devastating situation in the region, we wanted to give an update from our team in Kabul. Thank you to every one of you who have asked us how they and all the animals are doing recently. We always pass your messages on. And it helps so much in times like these. ❤️ Your kindness and care keeps our teams going, until that day when peace finally replaces conflict and war. “In recent months, daily life in Afghanistan has b
