Nowzad supporters reaching new heights!

Along with amazing supporters from the fabulous charity Animals Asia, fearless Nowzad fundraisers braved 50mph winds to tackle the mighty Mount Snowdon in north Wales over the weekend of 14th September 2024. And they did it in style - setting a new Nowzad speed record for reaching the summit! This years team stayed together and blasted to the top in just three hours!! Well done crew!

Sadly, the summit cared not for a speed record and remained shrouded in thick cloud giving no opportunity for a well-deserved view from the top. The biting wind chill forced the team to stop only for a brief photo opportunity before the descent trek beckoned to find a calmer place out of the howling wind.

Nowzad founder Pen, a qualified mountaineering instructor who accompanied the team to the summit, praised the determination of all who took part in the charity fundraiser.

“It was a super fun day, walking alongside fabulous people all with the common passion of fundraising to make a very real difference for an animal in need and as always, we celebrated our successful summit bid in style in the local pub afterwards!”.

Thank you to all the Nowzad Snowdon fundraisers who gave up their weekend to trek up a mountain to support the animal welfare work of Nowzad in both Ukraine and Afghanistan!

Look out for some super fundraising challenges coming for 2025 – we will post dates soon!

  • Snowdon 1085m
  • The Commando 30 miler across Dartmoor
  • Climbing days with Nowzad founder Pen (who is a fully qualified mountaineering instructor and passionate climber).
  • Nowzad Dog show

Yesterday was one of the long ones, but it was worth every second! Just look at the dogs as they come out of the crates after the journey, into their new home for now. Dan and Pen have just finished a VERY tough 12-hour drive to get 5 more dogs out of the danger zone in Kramatorsk and safely into the shelter in Kyiv. #nowzad #kramatorsk #operationkramatorsk #ukrainerelief #nowzaddogscharity

Today has been a total whirlwind of emotion, action, and hope. In the Field with Pen 🎥 Check out the video from Pen, who’s currently en route with a truckload of animals - one dog (‘Peter’) going straight to the vets in Kyiv this evening to hopefully resolve some worrying health issues. We’re moving as fast as we can to get these dogs to safety in Kyiv and away from the immediate dangers of the conflict. Every mile brings them closer to a new, peaceful life. Morning everybody out there! Pen and Dan have just arrived back at the shelter in Kramatorsk. But the situation feels even more critical this morning. Last night, Pen witnessed the devastating impact of the conflict, counting at least 13 Shahid drone strikes in the area. The destruction and pain caused to everyday Ukrainian people and their animals just seems relentless. 💔 But we aren’t just watching; we’re acting! Pen and Dan are currently building crates to evacuate 5 more dogs today, movin

This week has kicked off with a mission of mercy. The “Mighty Trio” of Pen, Dr Lach and Angela is officially back on the road again, completing our first major evacuation run so far! We’ve just successfully moved a group of very brave dogs from the Drooh Animal Shelter in Kramatorsk to the relative peace of Smila in central Ukraine. #nowzad #kramatorsk #missionkramatorsk #ukraine #penfarthing
