Today, our team at the Nowzad hospital in Kabul celebrated World Animal Day 2026 by opening our doors to the next generation of animal lovers! We welcomed a group of local students from a primary school in Kabul to our new balcony dog run for a fun, hands-on educational workshop focused on safety, compassion, and care for all animals.
Building a safer, kinder world for animals always, ALWAYS starts with education. One of the best, most worthwhile parts of the day was demonstrations by our team to the lovely children on how to safely approach and handle dogs, as well as crucial lessons on what to do if they encounter an unfamiliar, frightened, or aggressive dog.
They also gave them practical lessons on proper feeding, providing fresh water, adequate shelter, and basic daily care - so important for nurturing love and good treatment of animals.
Thank you for standing with Nowzad as we continue to care for animals — and educate communities — across Afghanistan!
Happy World Animal Day!
