Nowzad ‘Unbreakable’ Film Screenings with Pen Farthing & Peter Egan

We’d love you to join us for a very special evening at The Woods at Oakley, near Salisbury, as we come together for an exclusive screening of Nowzad’s latest film, Unbreakable.

Unbreakable takes you to the frontline in Ukraine, where war has changed the lives of millions of people and their animals. The film follows Nowzad’s work helping those who have refused to leave their beloved pets behind, and the teams working in incredibly difficult circumstances to bring animals to safety.

But this evening is about much more than watching a film. It’s a chance to meet the people behind the stories, hear what really happens on the ground, ask questions, share a drink and spend an evening with others who care deeply about animals.

We’ll welcome you to the beautiful woodland setting of The Woods at Oakley from 5:30pm with a glass of fizz — with a non-alcoholic option too — and time to relax, have a chat and browse the Nowzad merchandise. Warm canapés will follow before we take our seats, grab some popcorn and settle in for the film.

Meet Pen Farthing, Peter Egan & Andrew Telling

We’re delighted that Pen Farthing will be joined by our wonderful patron and renowned actor Peter Egan, along with Andrew Telling, director of Unbreakable and founder of Orange Planet Pictures.

It’s a rare opportunity to spend an evening with the people closely involved in Nowzad’s story and hear about the experiences that don’t always make it onto the screen.

Alongside Unbreakable, we’ll be sharing a short film about our Horse Paradise Sanctuary partnership in Ukraine, as well as an update on the work Nowzad continues to carry out in Afghanistan.

And please bring your questions! There’ll be a live Q&A during the evening, giving you the chance to ask about the film, the rescues and the challenges — and successes — of helping animals in some of the world’s most difficult places.

A little more than a film night

Once the films and Q&A are over, there’s no need to rush home. The horsebox bar will be open, giving everyone more time to chat and enjoy the woodland surroundings.

You’ll also be able to browse our Nowzad merchandise, pick up one of Pen’s books and have it signed — and there may be one particularly irresistible photo opportunity: a cuddle and selfie with some of our rescued donkeys!

Every guest will also leave with a Nowzad goody bag.

And because this is an outdoor woodland venue in October, we’re prepared for the British weather. There’ll be overhead cover and blankets available if the evening turns chilly or wet.
