The summer heat is officially here in Kabul, but our favourite roving ambassador, Fury, knows exactly how to handle the rising temperatures. His top tips for the heatwave? Hydration, shade and frozen treats!
But that’s not all that's keeping Fury’s spirits high. He’s also been busy mentoring a very special new resident. Meet Khoshbakht (which means "Lucky" in Dari), a brave little puppy who has truly lived up to his name.
Khoshbakht’s journey to us was not an easy one. Born by the roadside, he lost his mother in a car accident, and then all of his siblings were sadly killed by a local dog pack one night, leaving him entirely alone and vulnerable.
When a kind local resident picked him up and brought him to the hospital, Khoshbakht was in a terrible state. His lower jaw was completely broken — we think the result of the brutal dog attacks.
But true to his name, luck was on his side. After undergoing major surgery and receiving round-the-clock care, Khoshbakht is a survivor! He is now much healthier, gaining strength every day, and even eating soft meals and canned dog food all on his own now.
Seeing Fury and little Khoshbakht strike up a little friendship is lovely to see!
