Imagine - it’s 10:00 PM in Kramatorsk, the skies are quiet for once, but the reality of frontline rescue arrives at the door. On Friday night, the military arrived in darkness to hand over a dog to Dr Lach and Angela – a thin, exhausted, and absolutely frozen dog from the frontline.
Our two didn't have much on hand, but he happily accepted some pasta, giving the bowl a very grateful lick! And, then after the last mouthfall, sauntered right over to Angela for some much-needed scratches!
Lach has officially named him Bluey (take a look at those eyes!!) and spent time out in the precious sun with him yesterday, taking him for a little walk, giving him a much-needed brush and “de-tick”, and just letting him sleep basically.
We are constantly moved by the soldiers of the ZSU (Armed Forces of Ukraine). Even amidst the pressure of the frontlines, they still stop for the smallest lives.
Bluey is safe, he is fed, and for the first time in a long time, he is not alone. He will be joining the other evacuated dogs out west of the country this coming week.
Operation Kramatorsk continues. Thank you for standing with us and the animals of Ukraine.
