Albert dog is heading to his forever home in Europe!

Life for animals living on the streets of Afghanistan is extraordinarily challenging; each day presents a relentless struggle for food, a safe refuge, and protection from severe injury and disease. At the heart of this turmoil, Nowzad’s mission has consistently been to enhance the welfare of these voiceless creatures and to provide assistance where it is most urgently required.

Albert, one of these unfortunate souls, was brought to the Nowzad animal hospital by a compassionate local man who discovered three young puppies fighting for survival. Among them, Albert was in the gravest condition; his front paw was horrendously damaged—he was missing all his toes.

This horrific wound seemed to be the aftermath of contact with a corrosive substance. Through unwavering and intensive medical care, Albert has made a remarkable recovery; he has blossomed into the sweetest and most gentle of companions. Although he walks with a slight limp due to a deformed paw, he copes admirably and revels in interacting with others and taking short walks. Albert is exceptionally friendly with other dogs, always eager to engage in playful activities. He has a heart of gold, often sharing his food with his kennel mates and joyfully chewing on his beloved Kong toy.

Now, his dreams have finally come true—he is awaiting a forever home where he can enjoy a happy, carefree life with a loving family that will welcome him. Albert is a true survivor. Despite the traumatic beginnings of his life, he exhibits a remarkable kindness and warmth that endears him to everyone he meets. We recognise that these times are challenging for many, but we kindly ask you to consider lending just a little support to help Abi reach her funding goal. We would all be immensely grateful for your generosity. Together, let’s rally to support this deserving dog, giving him the opportunity to find his own family and experience a joyful life. Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity in making this dream a reality. It’s been another heavy week here in Kabul. Our team is currently celebrating the Islamic festival of Eid but, with more attacks on the city, the tension is palpable. Thank goodness though - Dr Reshad, his team and all our precious rescue animals are safe. Thank you so much to everyone for asking about the situation and how they all are. But... all are feeling the weight of the ongoing crisis and it’s hard for us here in the UK not to feel helpless sometimes :( Even in the toughest times th

🐾 30 MILES FOR NOWZAD: GO TONY & DART! 🐾 This coming weekend, March 21st, one of our incredible trustees, Tony, is taking on an epic endurance challenge to raise vital funds for Nowzad. Tony isn’t going it alone, though. He’s tackling a grueling 30-mile route in a CaniTrail-organised event alongside his best four-legged friend, Dart! 🐕💨 🏃‍♂️ What is Canicross? For those who don’t know, Canicross is the exhilarating sport of cross-country running with your dog. It’s all about teamwork, t

Remember Blue? We first introduced you to this sweet boy back in December, and today, we are absolutely delighted to share an update on beautiful Blue! After his devastating accident, Blue’s road to recovery looked long and uncertain. The impact was severe, causing significant injuries to his internal organs — specifically his lungs — which required careful monitoring and X-rays to track the damage. He also struggled with a painful tear in her upper palate that made the simple act of eating a d

Instead of our usual Fury post this week, and due to the whole, absolutely devastating situation in the region, we wanted to give an update from our team in Kabul. Thank you to every one of you who have asked us how they and all the animals are doing recently. We always pass your messages on. And it helps so much in times like these. ❤️ Your kindness and care keeps our teams going, until that day when peace finally replaces conflict and war. “In recent months, daily life in Afghanistan has b
