A Weekend of Inspiration: From Totnes to the Ealing Animal Charities Fair

What a busy and inspiring weekend for the whole Nowzad team! While Pen was busy sharing our story with wonderful crowds in Totnes and the Royal British Legion Banstead, another part of the team was representing us in London.

David, Ann, and Ewok made it to the Ealing Animal Charities Fair! It was a fantastic day spent manning the stand and connecting with so many passionate animal lovers.

Event Highlights

  • A Patron’s Visit: We loved catching up with our amazing patron, Peter Egan, who stopped by to show his support (and get some Ewok cuddles, of course!).

  • Sharing Our Mission: David gave a talk to the crowd, sharing the latest updates on our urgent work for the animals currently in our care across Ukraine and Afghanistan.

Check out these photos from the events, including some great selfies with Ewok! Thank you to everyone who came out to see us in Ealing, Totnes, and Banstead. Your support keeps us going.

Would you like me to help you draft some engaging captions for these photos to use on Instagram or Facebook?

OP KRAMATORSK: £5,000 ANONYMOUS MATCH CHALLENGE! We have some INCREDIBLE news from the very front line of our rescue mission in Ukraine — but it comes after a very distressing day in Kramatorsk yesterday. A devastating Russian strike hit the city centre, tragically claiming the lives of 5 people and leaving more than 20 others injured. This is the backdrop our team and many, many others is working against; the sounds of air raid sirens and the threat of strikes are constant. From the safety

On Tuesday the Nowzad team headed to work at the Hostomel shelter, a rural settlement in Kyiv Oblast, run by the lovely Maria. The area was heavily attacked since the war started, seeing the number of dogs rise to around 500 and approximately 200 cats. On the way, Peter and the rest of the team found it incredibly sad to pass scarred buildings and piles of rubble, no thanks to Russian missiles and drones - all in such close proximity to the shelter. Led by Dr Lachlan, more neutering and vacc

Pen did a live interview with Emma Bullimore on BBC this morning about the work Nowzad are currently doing in Ukraine. Enroute more supply-loading at the warehouse, Liuba took Peter Egan and team to pay respects to fallen Ukrainian soldiers. A very emotional morning and startling seeing the vast number of lives cut short by a senseless war. This isn't the end of it...there are many more graves for brave soldiers they've lost. #Ukraine #NoAnimalLeftBehind #CannonballRun #OperationKramatorsk
