A Mountain of Thanks — And an Even Bigger Challenge Ahead!

21 September 2026

Also, can we just add to our post from last night (about carts for Kabul's working animals) with....

...another HUGE thank you to everyone who donated to our Snowdon team last week as well!

Following our update last Sunday, your incredible generosity has helped us raise just shy of £400 in extra funds for our vital work overseas! Every single donation directly impacts the lives of animals who need us most in Afghanistan and Ukraine, and we are so grateful for your support.

Here’s to next year!

And here’s a little news scoop for you: 2027 marks 20 years of Nowzad — and therefore 20 years of Pen taking on slightly crazy fundraising challenges! To celebrate, Pen is planning to level up and take on the ultimate National Three Peaks Challenge weekend: tackling Snowdon, Ben Nevis, and Scafell Pike all in one go.

Watch this space... big adventures are on the horizon and you're invited!

Pen has a new recruit… and little Ewok seems VERY keen on his latest assignment. Mission: Get paws on the Nowzad Poppy Dog Toy. Objective: Squeak it. Carry it. Guard it. And behind the fun is something very close to our hearts: remembering the animals who have ser

As winter approaches in Kabul, dropping temperatures bring real challenges for the animals in our care — especially our elderly shelter dogs with aching joints, like Diesel, Babri, and Fury, Ramy with her chronic skin condition, and then also any young pups recovering in our emergency hospital. To keep our most vulnerable patients safe and comfortable, we are building three dedicated, heated kennels at our Kabul Hospital. And guess what??! If you donate, it will go twice as far! All thanks t

To our wonderful patron and the most amazing animal welfare advocate Peter Egan 🤗…a little birdy (or should that be big bear 🐻☺️) told us that it’s your very special big Birthday today! 🎉 So we wanted to send you all our wishes for an amazing day, and thank you for everything you do to support Nowzad, and the help and hope that you give to animals all over the world! 🐾 🖤 You are very dear to our hearts, and many would say, ‘unbreakable’…which leads us nicely to a plug for this weekend’s
