Atel was brought to Nowzad by a concerned local Afghan man after he found her on the street with a broken leg. With the best of intentions, he had tied rope around her injured leg in an attempt to splint it.
After a thorough check-up, the Nowzad vet team realized that her leg could not be saved as the break was so old and we were forced to amputate it. Atel stayed with us at the clinic for over a year before being adopted to a loving home in the UK. We don’t think Atel realises she has only three legs – it has not slowed her down at all!
