Snowdon Challenge 13th Sep 2025

The Nowzad Snowdon challenge is back!

On the 13th September 2025 do you think you have what it takes to trek to the top of Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park in North Wales? At a height of 1085m it is no ‘walk in the park’ (excuse the pun), but a serious undertaking as the weather, personal fitness and mountain environment are all factors to be considered!

Why trek to the summit?

Well for a start there is (subject to Welsh weather), normally a glorious view and of course, the world famous Snowdon café. The Snowdon light railway goes to the summit too - but that would be cheating!! This event is all about challenging ourselves and raising vital funds for the Nowzad charity’s ongoing animal welfare work in Ukraine and Afghanistan.

What better way to raise money than digging deep and pushing yourself to reach the top! (But please do save some energy so you can get back down!).

We will be joined by the wonderful people from Animals Asia - it is not a race but always nice to have more Nowzad supporters on the summit than they do!! (We are all good friends really!) Commit to the event fee of £25 (which includes a unique Nowzad t-shirt) and fundraising a minimum of £250 for the vital animal welfare work of the charity and your place is confirmed!

No accommodation or food is provided by the charity but we do provide our founder, Pen Farthing who will guide you up the mountain :)

To register your interest please click here and dust those walking boots off.... :)

With your help and support, we’ve begun the huge move. We’re moving animals across the city, laying foundations for new stables, constructing temporary accommodation at both sites, and tiling our quarantine areas and new kitchens to get them ready for food prep. The Nowzad 24/7 animal hospital and #donkey sanctuary in Kabul are being forced to move due to government construction projects. We have found new land but need to rebuild everything. We have estimated the costs to be around £100,000 ($100,000) to rebuild our surgery, dog kennels, laboratory, dog exercise area and the stables for our donkeys and horses. Our call to action starts today. Please help us to continue our vital animal welfare work in Afghanistan by rebuilding Nowzad’s facilities. Ful
