JaJa the Goat!

Meet Jaja! - Nowzad’s FIRST EVER goat rescue!

Our Migrant Camp program to vaccinate the vast range of animals against rabies and other fatal diseases is continuing for the displaced people and their animals in and around Kabul city.
During one of these very visits, we came across a little goat who was scared, severely dehydrated, hungry and alone, with nothing but rubbish on the ground for food.

We asked the inhabitants about the goat and they told us that he was the sole survivor of 25 goats who had contracted the PPR disease.
Although this little goat wasn’t completely over his symptoms, he’d survived.

With the camp’s blessing we whisked the goat to the Nowzad clinic where Dr Reshad gave him immediate medical attention, next up was a bath and a groom, and finally a name - we named him ‘Jaja’ due to his passing resemblance to JajaBinks the Star Wars character!

Under the care of Nowzad, Jaja’s transformation was amazing!

We truly believe he is now the happiest goat in the world, who loves nothing better than to cuddle up to people and play with the dogs.

So please give this delightful little character, Jaja, a big warm welcome to the Nowzad Sanctuary!
