Karen

Karen was born and raised in Helmand province. She was taken care of by soldiers throughout their deployment to Helmand. Nowzad was called when it was time for the soldier who wanted to adopt Karen to leave Afghanistan.

Karen arrived at the Nowzad shelter in April 2012. She was one of the few female ‘ginger’ cats we see and she was in excellent health. She was huge!

Thankfully fundraising went extremely well and Karen was reunited with the soldier in the US in June 2012.
