We work on UK time, (currently 4 hours behind Afghan time and 8 hours in front of West Coast US time).
The Nowzad Dogs charity in the UK is managed by just two full time staff, please be patient if you email us – we will reply to you but it may just be a longer wait than you would normally expect.

Soldier Rescue Process:
For us to be able to assist with the rescue of a companion animal from Afghanistan; the animal must already have a ‘forever’ home in place with the soldier or their immediate family member in the west. Currently we are stretched to bursting with stray animals at our shelter.
We will need exact location details of the companion animal and ‘real time’ communication with the soldier who is caring for the animal so that we can plan the detailed pick-up and rescue of the animal.
Please note that we are a charity (501c3) that relies solely on public donations to operate our shelter and provide the logistics behind every successful rescue request received for companion animals from Afghanistan.
The average cost of a rescue is US $4000+ from the current location on a FOB to our shelter (including shelter running costs and vaccines) and onward transport to north America, (animals for the UK need to consider UK quarantine regulations which may increase the cost to UK £4500 on average).
The Nowzad Dogs charity asks for a financial commitment from all soldiers or contractor.
All users of email addresses using @rmparadigm.com must give us an alternative email address to use as currently @rmparadigm.com does not accept incoming mail from Nowzad.com
Due to the large volume of email we receive, if you are contacting us with a rescue request for an animal in Afghanistan please ensure you quote ‘RESCUE REQUEST’ in the subject line of the email, this will allow us to identify your email quicker.
If you are attempting to rescue an animal from Afghanistan please do not email us if you are already in touch with other Afghan based animal welfare organisations. We all work together and so it will only end up confusing matters. Thank you.
