FUBAR was found alone and freezing by Dutch Marines on patrol, and they knew there was no way they could just leave that poor pup there. 

Keeping her warm in the foot-well of the armoured vehicle FUBAR was taken back to their base where they looked after her as best she could. FUBAR grew fast and she was a positive distraction to for the Dutch Marines from the constant stress of the deployment.

But the Marines knew that they would be leaving their forward operating base soon and FUBAR would not be allowed to go with them. Frantic emails and calls to girlfriends and relatives back in Holland and searches on the internet bought our Nowzad charity to the rescue.

With our contacts in Afghanistan and with the fantastic support of the local Afghan drivers, FUBAR was transported safely to the Nowzad clinic before onward transportation to the UK and then onward to Holland to be reunited with one of those Dutch Marines who had originally rescued her.
