Nowzad

Spike came to the attention of Nowzad early in October 2010. Her owner who was based in Southern Afghanistan had found her outside a compound alone and trying to find food. She quickly took her inside the compound to give her food and just as quickly fell in love with Spike!…..

Phoenix the cat was born in a very dangerous area in Southern Afghanistan. She was found at a very young age and without a mother anywhere to be seen and she was looking very sorry for herself. Her soldier could not leave her there to die….

Sheba used to live on the same base in Afghan that the Lucky 7 came from! Shortly after getting the Lucky 7 home Sheba’s owner also asked us if we could help. How could we refuse??

This is the story of Fifa the cat. Fifa was born in Southern Afghanistan in Summer 2010. At around 3 weeks old she was found by a Canadian Soldier and she was starving and dehydrated and her mother was nowhere to be seen.

This is Spin. He came to the Nowzad Rescue Centre in early September 2010. His owner has found him as a young pup in Southern Afghanistan, he was wandering round in a pretty bad way having had his ears and tail cut off…..

RPG came into her British Soldiers life much the same way as all of Nowzads other rescues do. She had been pretty badly treated even though she was only about 5 or 6 weeks old. For the next few months RPG followed her owner everywhere and when her owner moved to a new area RPG went with her….

Dave was found by a Royal Marine in Southern Afghanistan when he was a very young pup. Poor Dave had suffered the fate that meets a lot of the dogs we rescue in that his ears and tail had been docked….

Early in 2010 Brin was adopted by British Soldiers in Southern Afghanistan. Brin had a happy life on the camp and often went out on patrols with the soldiers until one fateful day when things went wrong!….
