Pen has just emailed in to say that they along with Mick they have completed the first of Pen’s ‘feeding the rat’ challenges to raise money for the Nowzad shelter! He reports the climbing was amazing but hard work and even more rewarding as they were raising money along the way for Nowzad! Apparently they did not succumb to any Vegas nightlife along the way…..
I know it is never a good time to give you all bad news but I also know that all of you who have read my books would want to know. Nowzad Dogs is more like a family than a charity. It is amazing how many of you feel a connection with this charity and so I have to tell you about one of the dogs that so many people ask us about daily.

Well DFS Crufts 2011 did not disappoint, it was as fun (albeit hardwork) as always. The highlight for me has to be running in the DFS Crufts CaniX event with the large and loveable Patchdog
Another incredibly busy few weeks has gone by for Nowzad. We are now caring for more than 30 animals at our small shelter in Afghanistan and it is not showing any signs of slowing down.
We have had some pretty memorable arrivals over the last few weeks including Hope who first came to our attention about 2 months ago when her Marines contacted us shortly after she had a litter of pups. Hope got very sick and within 2 weeks of the pups being born Hope had almost wasted away to nothing.
We love to keep our supporters updated on what is happening with the Nowzad Charity and as you have probably guessed the last month or so has been our busiest ever so Pen wanted to take the time to let you all know how things are going, future plans and also an appeal.
After many weeks of trying it is great to be able to bring you an update on whats been happening at the Nowzad Rescue Centre, please read on for a full update on where we are! We have lots of new arrivals and lots more to come!
