Nowzad

Here at the Nowzad shelter we strive to feed the dogs the best possible diet we can give them but this of course costs a lot of money and we need your help.

We have our own special dog soup mix that all the dogs thrive on and to make this we use the following ingredients:

Nowzad Dogs now has its very own card shop via CharityGreetings.com where you can buy cards for every occasion!

With each card purchased Nowzad will receive a donation and you can choose to have the card sent directly to your friend or family member with your message or have it sent blank to you first.

As you are all aware Pen is climbing mountains all over the UK and other parts of the world to raise money and awareness for Nowzad.

Pen has recently completed part 2 of his ‘Feeding the Rat’ challenge in Morocco by climbing to the summit of Jebel Toubkel.

After a very chilled out 3 weeks at home I have returned to the shelter in Afghan and as always I am being kept very busy!

Whilst I was away Pen sent home more than 20 companion animals but we still have more companion animals to send home. Sadly in the last update I brought to you we had to cease accepting rescues as we just do not have the space to bring in any more companion animals and we do not have the funding in place to send any more animals home so this is another appeal for you to please spread the word or donate and help us to continue our work.

As you know Nowzad is constantly looking a ways to spread the word about our work and raise much needed funds.

We have now decided to set up an initiative called ‘Friends of Nowzad’ and we need your help to get up and running!

Dear All

The one most ‘stand-out’ observation that has hit me from this trip to Afghanistan so far, is the friendliness of the Afghan people. Where ever I go, people stop and say hello and the twinkle in the eye is obvious as I practice my very limited knowledge of ‘Dari’ before my feeble attempts are brushed aside with a smile as my new friend takes their turn to show off their superior command of the English language.

This is Lexi. She was found in a trash pile during a patrol by US soldiers in Badghis Provence. Lexi found herself part of the patrol as she was carefully placed in a drop pouch and carried back to the base where a quick scrub and meal were the order of the day.

Here at Nowzad HQ we are extremely excited as we now have our own race car! Well not quite, but almost! www.bluefireracing.com have generously decided to ignore a paid sponsor advert and instead display the Nowzad logo on their ‘BlueFire Pony’ as they hurtle around the track at high speed!
