Stewie started her life as most pups do in Afghanistan, she spent her days scavenging for food and water and hiding from danger.  Stewie was eventually picked up a by a contractor in Western Afghanistan and taken to live at a compound where she had a nice bed and never wanted for anything.  Stewie had a good life on the compound but soon her owner was told that she had to leave the compound so Nowzad was contacted and the arrangements made to send Stewie to South Africa to live with her owner and his family.

Early July 2010 Stewie was transported to the Afghan Rescue and on 23 July 2010 made her journey to South Africa where she is now settled with her new family and has been renamed Sasha.
