Dutch was found a few months ago by a contractor in Afghanistan. He wasn’t looking too good having been living on the streets and was starving. So, Cam and his mates decided to take him in and look after him but shortly after he was taken in Dutch started displaying the symptoms of Distemper. At this time his owner was not aware of Nowzad so he put his medical training into good use and got Dutch onto antibiotics and a drip and with plenty of TLC Dutch made an almost complete recovery. Due to having distemper Dutch has been left with a ‘twitch’ which makes him look like he is always chewing gum! However, he is a happy dog who loves to play and the ‘chewing’ does not cause him any issues whatsoever.
We are hoping to be able to send Dutch home with his owner in the very near future.
