Spin’s owner contacted us last week. Spin was adopted as a very small pup by a contractor in Southern Afghanistan. Spin’s ears had been cut off and it did not take long for his owner to realise that Spin is in fact completely deaf. Being deaf means that Spin’s chances of survival out there alone are virtually nil so of course we at Nowzad are now forming a plan to get Spin out and send him home to the US to his owner.
Carlos came to our attention a couple of weeks ago. His soldier is getting ready to leave Afghanistan and cannot bear the thought of leaving him behind.
We are now in the process of making a plan to get Carlos to the Afghan Rescue and will keep you updated of his progress.

What a lovely dog, hope all goes well for the rest of your life!
Does Spin have a page to donate yet? I’d love to share him with everyone, but I’d want them to be able to donate. He’s beautiful, thank you for your tireless efforts!
Why do they cut their ears and tails off all the time? Can’t be just for fighting because they do it to cats too and obviously aren’t keeping the dogs. So strange and cruel. How anyone can be so shut off is beyond me.
I am the one who is wanting to give this dog a home. He is a great companion. Amazingly enough after all the abuse he has been through in his young life he is still very trusting of people. He shows all the traits of being a very loyal family member. Any help with him is much appreciated. He will have a forever loving home.
No matter what, he deserves better than what he has here.
