Target, Rufus and the 3 pups, Bear, Hesco and B and the oddly named Low Rider have their own amazing story.

Sasha, who had pups, Rufus and Target who was pregnant at the time really came through with their loyalty late one evening when a suicide bomber managed to get into the camp where as strays they were living on with American soldiers.  Sasha, Rufus and Target raised the alarm with their barking and took chase after the bomber.  The bomber detonated and sadly Sasha’s injuries were just too bad and she was killed, Target and Rufus were also badly wounded but thanks to the dedication of the soldiers caring for them they made a full recovery and they also took on the role of being mother to the remaining puppies.  Without the brave, selfless actions of these dogs there would have undoubtedly been massive loss of life on the camp that night, without their determination to chase the bomber he would have made it into the living area and it is likely many soldiers would have been injured or killed.  The soldiers who care for these dogs have now asked Nowzad Dogs to assist in getting these hero dogs to the US. It is a long process and with so many dogs involved we are working hard to make it happen.
